1901, December 5th-Birth of Walter Elias Disney
Walter Elias Disney was born in Chicago where he lived five years before moving in the Missouri with is family which counts his parents, his three brothers and his sister. Walt's childhood will be marked by several moves.
1923-Creation of Disney Brothers Studio
Walt Disney and his brother Roy Oliver co-founded their animation studio. They first produced a series called "Alice Comedies. The studio took his definitive name in 1928 becoming Walt Disney Productions.
1928, September 20th - "Mickey Mouse"
The famous character designed by Walt Disney appeared in a short cartoon: "Plane Crazy". He is no named Mickey yet, but “Mortimer”. This little mouse would be named Mickey in the cartoon "Steamboat Willie".
1933, May the 27th – “The Tree little Pigs”
Walt Disney produced his first colored cartoon. He won an Oscar fort the best short film. The success is global. And the song "Who's Afraid of the Big Bad Wolf" composed by Frank Churchill, was a huge commercial success.
1934, June 9th – Beginning of Donald Duck
He appeared in the USA in the cartoon "The Wise Little Hen". Two months later he met Mickey in “Orphan's benefit". The cranky duck appeared in "Le journal de Mickey" in April 1935.
1937, December 21st – Release of “Snow-white and the seven dwarfs”
it is the first long cartoon with speaking and colors cast in Los Angeles. The film won a great success and consecrated Disney who proved that a cartoon of more of an hour can interest the public. The realization of this cartoon requires three years.
1955, July 17th – Opening of Disneyland
After a lot of years of conception and development Disneyland park opened in Anaheim, California. It is one of the first leisure parks with a theme in the world.
1966, December 15th – Death of Mickey’s father
at the age of 65 years, Walt Elias Disney died of a lung cancer, consequence of his tobacco addiction. His brother continued running the company to has his death in 1971.
